Fellowship with God 103.

  1. Why has God intended that we should have a fellowship around the mystery of His will?
    • Ephesians 3:9-10 and to make all see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God who created all things through Jesus Christ; to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places,
    • Because this 5th fellowship really is an amazing fellowship when we start to understand how amazing it is what God has given us. If we believe this, then NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE.

  1. The Mystery of His Will Revealed
    • Ephesians 1:4-5 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love, he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will
    • A. Before Adam and Eve it was God’s intention to adopt us as sonsB. These sons and daughters would be holy and blamelessC. It was out of His LOVE that He desired to do thisD. It pleased God to do this act of willE. It would always be done through Jesus Christ. The Father’s desire is to have Sons and Daughters for Himself, a Bride for His Son and a Temple for His Spirit2. The Mystery of His Will is NOT salvation from our sinsEphesians 1:4-5 teaches us that before man fell God had a purpose for mankind: The Father’s desire is to have a Bride for His Son and a Temple for His Holy Spirit. The redemption of man from their sins is not the MAIN reason why He came.Jesus was the lamb that was slain before the creation:Revelation 13:8All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.God was never surprised by our sins, so why should we maximise them in our preaching? Our message includes forgiveness of sins, but needs to align with God’s will: Sons and daughters of God who are holy and blameless, through the free gift of righteousness..3. The Power of the Mystery is found in being heirsThe power of the mystery is found in being heirs of God and everything that entails:Ephesians 3:6that the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, of the same body, and partakers of His promise in Christ through the gospel, of which I became a minister according to the gift of the grace of God given to me by the effective working of His power.Romans 8:17and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.4. The Benefit of this Mystery is an Inheritance:Ephesians 1:18the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,Ephesians 1:11In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will,5. The Glory of the Mystery is Found in Being HeirsEphesians 1:18the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,6. The Blessing of the Mystery is Found in Recognizing Where we are SeatedEphesians 1:3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,Revelation 3:21To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.7. The Purpose is that the Church makes this Mystery known to the principalities and powers that we have Access to God.Here we see that there is kingdom authority as part of this mystery:Ephesians 3:10to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places,And we also see that this is free access to GodEphesians 3:11-12according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord, in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him.8. The Covenant of the Mystery is the New CovenantThe context of this scripture is the Gentiles becoming united with the JewsEphesians 3:5-6which in other ages was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to His holy apostles and prophets: that the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, of the same body, and partakers of His promise in Christ through the gospel,What may be obvious to the reader is that this is New Covenant language:Hebrews 8:10For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. This scripture is taken clarified prophetically in Hosea:Hosea 2:23Then I will say to those who were not My people,‘You are My people!’And they shall say, ‘You are my God!’
